India - England, ICC Champions trophy

India scored an emphatic win over England in their first match of the champions trophy. I watched only the first 30 overs of the match and had enough of it. India bowled well against a mediocre English team. England looks like a team that drew up all their energy and concentrated it on last year's Ashes. Now that they have won it, they have no energy or motivation left. Coming back to the match, I felt that this pitch was quite mediocre and India should be reprimanded for providing a pitch like this for such a high profile tournament. I thought Irfan Pathan bowled a bit wide early on the English didnt really have the batsmen to take advantage. All in all a good warm up match for the Indians where everybody has settled in.

The next match against WI should be an easy one for the Indians. The WI who until now had a psychological advantage over India by virtue of their series victory against us, would have now lost all confidence after their disastrous match against Sri Lanka. I think India will beat them easily.

First entry

Cricket blog!! Why? Well, I am an Indian and every indian loves cricket. After all, we cant play any other sport well enough. Odd isnt it! Well, I think one of the reasons why we excel in cricket is because we are lazy, you dont have to be too fit to play the game. You can be a good batsman despite being fat and a slob. All one needs to do is play the big shots. Indians are very much like the Romans during the days of the Gladiators and the great Roman theatre. They dont really love the game, they just want to be entertained. They love the big shots, the thrill. Nobody bothers about the nuances, subtle tactics of the game.

And the best proof of our laziness is that we produce the maximum number of spin bowlers in the world. Who wants to toil in the sun and break your back bowling fast ;)

Coming back to why I love the sport, I cant hit a six, I am not a stroke player, but I love the nuances of the game. I would call myself a connoiseur. This is my first post on cricket. Let's see how well I write
